Read this if you use a pre-workout supplement, it may just help you in the long run...

Updated: Dec 18, 2020

What up bro

Do you use pre-workout supplements? Do you enjoy the tingly feeling you get from the amino acid Beta-Alanine?

I used to be all about the pre-workout life and even had my own ''ritual'' of when and how I took it!

That's all changed though, all due to me coming to an understanding that it was crippling my workouts... I pretty much saw through the commercial bullshit...

Let me tell you how Pre-Workout may be crippling YOUR workouts.

Reason #1 - You become too reliant

Pre-workout contains substances that trigger different types of reactions in the brain. One of these substances is caffeine, which reduces tiredness, drowsiness, and can improve your athletic performance. This is great of course but the problem with Pre-Workout is that it contains substances like caffeine in very high doses (sometimes 100-200 mg above the average healthy dose for an adult!). This usually has some very addicting effects, which quite often will make you rely on your choice of Pre-Workout to have a good workout.

This is not just my case... ask any guy who's ever gone off Pre-Workout for a while and he or she will 99% out of most cases testify that their gym progress felt weaker and worse when not taking the supplement.

What happens over time is that you get used to taking your PWO and quite quickly only start to look forward to taking that scoop. This makes you dependent and you lose your purpose of going to the gym, it's no longer about making gainz, it's all about that scoop of PWO that excites you which is never optimal.

Reason #2 The effects don't last forever

If you've ever taken PWO on a regular basis, you'll know that it gave a better when you first started out, just like with any other substance that's effects wear off after a while you begin increasing the doses... I know I did, can you relate to taking an extra scoop just because you noticed that ''it just doesn't do the trick anymore''?

The effects don't last and you know it my friend, this is not healthy for your body nor is it for your wallet.

''Alright but what can I do'' you might ask...

Well I've got some more optimal alternatives below

Alt. #1 Coffee

Simple, just replace it with coffee and you'll still get you caffeine boost! I'm not against caffeine, no I'm all for it! Just not by taking PWO.

Coffee is more natural and contains way less shit than PWO does and can be both beneficial to your overall health and training! Aslong as you don't overdo it you'll feel way better and won't rely on it asmuch as you might with PWO.

Alt. #2 Only use PWO when you want to test your strength.

This along with alt. #1 is what I currently use and will continue to use since I know it works. By only using a PWO supplement when for example competing in a meet of some sort, mock meet or just testing a 1RM (does not apply to conjugate system since you max out every week!) you eliminate becoming reliant and get the most effect out of it since you rarely ever take it!

Alt. #3 Cycle it in waves

This method would work because you cycle it in different waves and therefore don't become dependent of it. Some examples of how you could cycle it would be: month to month rotation of taking and not taking, 3 week rotation of taking and not taking... the possibilities are endless!

Final words

I hope I gave you some valuable advice, it's definitely helped my training and know has helped others. Don't believe the commercial hype of the unregulated supplement market and do your own research before buying anything. Always consult a medical professional if you want to buy something.
